Didgeridoo Journey Meditation

Joe_Didge_72dpi_1Don’t miss Joseph’s return visit to New England and a chance to honor transition into fall with the healing magic of a didgeridoo!

Connect, breathe, and guide your space within.

Bring peace and healing to the mind, body, and soul.

This workshop offers an introduction to the therapeutic principles of the didgeridoo and a basic overview of journeying and meditation. The meditation consists of 50 minute didgeridoo journey followed by group sharing, question and answer time.

The didgeridoo keys selected for this meditation are played for longer duration and are chosen for their ability to support journeying, meditation, visioning, and intention manifestation.

What is Harmonic Therapy with the Didgeridoo?

Didgeridoos produce sound waves in the inaudible 0-20Hertz range (the same frequency range as human brain waves) with several harmonics approaching 1000Hertz. These waves affect the “whole” body, including your Etherial being, relaxing your body and mind to a state of deep self-healing and personal consciousness.

Harmonic therapy has been used to aid in meditation and relaxation, acting as a tuning fork for your body’s natural resonant vibration on a cellular level. Reported effects range from relief of muscle pain and stress, to a greater sense of clarity and heightened energy flow along reopened chakra points.

Who is Joseph?

Joseph Carringer is a professional didgeridoo musician and sound therapist. In his sound therapy practice he uses concert class didgeridoos, combining Traditional Chinese Medicine meridian and organ theory with Ayurvedic Chakra philosophies creating a unique and powerful therapeutic sound healing experience. Joseph has been playing an Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo for over 15 years, using it as a deep meditative tool in his personal shamanic journey as well as a therapeutic instrument for his clients.

Yoga of Energy Flow Series

yoga of energy flow

yoga of energy flowI am very excited to be bringing this style of yoga to the North Shore! I really loved my teacher training and enjoyed practicing this style. I hope you’ll love it as much as I do.

Drawing from several yoga styles, such as Kundalini, Meridian, and Kali Ray TriYoga, Yoga of Energy Flow is a unique and transformative method that integrates strength and flexibility training, energy cultivation, and open awareness.

Kundalini Yoga activates prana/chi energy, and strengthens the nervous system. Meridian Yoga opens and balances the internal energy flow. TriYoga, a vinyasa style, cultivates the flow of internal energy into a beautiful flow of postures; it is the art of meditation in action. Yoga of Energy Flow integrates these three styles into one unified, transformational practice.

By paying close attention to the movement of the spine in transition between poses and uniting that movement with breath, a unique appreciation for the movement of energy is developed. Your awareness expands and meditative states become easier to achieve.

Olga Kaminsky is a certified yoga teacher, Reiki Master Teacher, and an herbalist. She has graduated Yoga of Energy Flow teacher training in 2010 and has been helping her clients and students find peace and mindfulness amidst the chaos of life. Her wellness studio, Eternal Balance, is located at Cummings Center in Beverly.

This class is appropriate for all levels and beginners are welcome.

These classes will be held at Susan MacFarlane’s Wellness Studio at 186 Cabot St., Lower Level, Beverly, MA.

We are building interest to make this a regular offering!

Our next class is on Friday, December 2 at 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm!

Prosperity Ritual

moneyWho can’t use a bit more prosperity in their life? I certainly can! We often talk about abundance, which is somewhat different from prosperity. Abundance comes to us in many different ways and avenues. Prosperity, however, is all about financial abundance.

Join me in this fun experiential evening of creating financial prosperity through candle magic, intention, tapping, and Kundalini meditation. Just like with abundance, there could be blocks to prosperity in your subconscious mind, when you reject prosperity on some level. Some people believe it can even be due to choosing austerity in a past life as a path to spiritual liberation. Some of us holds associations that money are a root of all evil. We might detest the sometimes arrogant and entitled attitude of someone well-off financially and not want to emulate that behavior ourselves. The blocks could be varied and many, but the result is that you are not as open to receiving money as you could be.

Whatever the cause, we will work to clear those blocks and create a clear energetic path for prosperity to come into your life!

We will take advantage of Thursday being a good day for prosperity and coinciding with a new moon, which is always good for new beginnings.

I will email a list of things to bring after you register. Don’t worry, it will be all the things you have around the house, and I will provide things that are more specific.

Let’s create financial magic together!

Intro to Spiritual Alchemy: Using Meditation to Transform Consciousness

Amphitheatrum_sapientiae_aeternae_-_Alchemist's_LaboratoryWith Greg Kaminsky – initiate and scholar of several esoteric traditions and producer / host of the Occult of Personality podcast at occultofpersonality.net.

Spiritual Alchemy – a western esoteric tradition that employs the metaphor of laboratory alchemical transmutation in working with meditation, breathing, and ritual techniques to transform one’s consciousness.

This class is designed to introduce the basic philosophy and initial practices to anyone interested in a simple, but powerful traditional technique that has been used to gain spiritual insight and illumination for ages.

It includes:

  • Short talk on the history of alchemy
  • Intro to the philosophy of alchemy and the proper state of mind required to enter the work
  • What makes this practice ‘spiritual’ alchemy
  • Discussion of how intentionally doing this practice has the power to transform consciousness
  • Working with specific techniques of breathing, meditation, and ritual
  • Presentation of a daily practice

Techniques of spiritual alchemy have been used for thousands of years with reproducible results. Clarity of mind, calmness, and increased energy may be side effects, but the goal of this practice is illumination – to transmute the lead of everyday experience into the gold of witnessing the miracle of divine creation.

The methods we’ll be discussing are integral to the esoteric traditions of Hermeticism and Rosicrucianism. We’ll explore the foundations, theory and practice of this royal Art to provide students with the basics required to begin their own daily practice.

Greg Kaminsky is the host and producer of the Occult of Personality podcast, a highly regarded and long-running podcast that explores the occult and esoteric with authors and experts in the field. His desire to create the Occult of Personality podcast in 2006 began with a life-long compulsion to learn more about ancient civilizations, world religions, symbolism, and the underlying hidden wisdom which they contain, but only convey to those with eyes to see and ears to hear. With well over 150 episodes completed and tens of thousands of listeners every month, the podcast continues to grow in popularity and prestige. You can find Occult of Personality podcast at http://occultofpersonality.net/.

As part of the journey in learning about the occult and esoteric while doing the podcast, Greg became an initiate in several traditions including Illuminism and Freemasonry. In 2007, he was consecrated as a Bishop in the Gnostic and Apostolic lines of succession by T Allen Greenfield on Mt. Arabia. Additionally, Greg is a scholar of the Western esoteric tradition currently pursuing a graduate degree in Medieval Studies, focusing on Cabala.

Greg has been practicing meditation regularly for more than 15 years and spiritual alchemy for more than 9 of those. He has led classes, workshops, and individual teachings on the subject since 2010.

Additionally, his understanding and experience continues to evolve to better aid those who wish to learn this method of spiritual practice.

Happy Independence Day!

eagleI love July 4th! I love the celebration, the fireworks, the idea of freedom and independence. There are many shades and nuances to freedom, I think. Of course, there are very literal interpretations in the case of a slave or a prisoner. It is unfortunate that even now literal slavery still exists in the world. And the prison population in the US is nothing to be happy about. But if you are reading this, chances are you are well removed from those two instances.

The question then is, “Are you free?” My favorite teacher always closed her yoga classes with the following blessing, that I also use:

May you be happy as I wish to be happy.

May you be healthy as I wish to be healthy.

May you be full of joy as I wish to be joyful.

May you be free from suffering, as I wish to be free.

The last line always made me unsettled. My thoughts would dart to slaves or prisoners and I would feel rather uncomfortable saying that I wish to be free. “I AM free!”, I thought, “What suffering?” Given that I had a comfortable middle-class income at that time and practiced with my all-white middle class colleagues made it all the more silly. But yoga and repeating things over and over have a funny way of sticking with you. Eventually, I had a light bulb moment as I was endlessly going over and over of what to do with my life. Do I leave said comfortable, but numbing job and do what I really feel can help others and be fulfilling, or do I write that dream off and stick with my career. The indecision and going back and forth was just painful. And that’s when I got it, that’s suffering! Yes, different kind, the one that we create ourselves, but suffering nonetheless!

Since then I have begun to view the superfluous mental activity as suffering. The kind where you keep worrying about things that are out of your control, where you think up all the different possible scenarios and not good ones either. And in that light the freedom looks a bit different too. Am I free from other people’s expectations of me? Am I free to do what my heart desires? Are you?

I hope as you are drinking some beer this weekend (make it a local one) and munching on some food (local?), you’ll have a minute to think of both physical and emotional freedom and toast to that.
